Film about Incredible Korean music collaboration…

Simon Barker: Intangible Asset No 82
Film Screening this Thursday, August 12th, 7:00 – 9:00pm

A free improviser of authority, control and textural imagination. Barker does not play musical approximations of emotion but the thing itself – John Shand SMH

When talented and innovative Australian drummer Simon Barker hears a rare recording of Korean shaman Kim Seok-Chul – a grand master in his seventies
playing with immense energy and complex technique, he knows immediately he must find and learn from the enigmatic shaman officially recognized as South Korea’s 82nd Intangible Asset.

The Joysticks

Y'all,

I know you're poor, but you love good music. Why not fuse poverty with hectic beats at Petersham Bowlo tonight?

$6 pub meals, $5 joysticks, $3 beers.

Supports from The Ravenous 7:45-8:15

The Boo Hoo Hoos (Melbourne) 8:30-9

And The Joysticks roll on stage at 9:15 til 10:00

Who could ask for anything more.

If you're still too poor for that, come to the Oxford Art Factory 3rd Birthday on the 20th of August which is free, but you'll have to line up like a sucka because there are already 1200 confirmed guests on Facey, and every year it's off the chain.

Parades, Howl, Guineafowl, Circle Pit, Traps, The Joysticks, Rapids, Whipped Cream Chargers, Sticky Fingers, La Mancha Negra, Puta Madre Brothers, Mother & Son and Dark Bells

Here's some I prepared earlier…

Some handy max patches to play with.

george-khut-smis-max-docs.zip

Some patches demonstrating cross-fading still images and sound files (wav and aiff), by movement of data allong an axis ie from point A to B, using "fuzzyvar"
and "fuzzyexpr" objects that I designed with Dr. Greg Turner in 2009.

Remember to open these patches in "Max-MSP" - not "Max-MSP Runtime".

You alos have to place the folder in your Max-MSP File Preferences > accessed via the "Options" drop down menu.

Enjoy!

Any questions - just email me at george [at] georgekhut [dot] com
